91/100 Luis Gutierrez, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (2017 Vintage)
"I was quite impressed by the harmony of the 2017 Finca San Martín, which shows remarkable integration of all its components, good ripeness without any excess and integrated oak (it matured in 60% new American and 40% second use French barriques for 16 months with three rackings) with fine tannins and a clean and precise finish. Great quality for the price. Outstanding for the adverse conditions of 2017. 180,000 bottles produced. – Torre de Oña is the Rioja winery from the La Rioja Alta group where they produce wines of a more modern profile. They purchased it in 1995. In 2016 they started using their new vinification facilities that they reckon will be noticeable in the quality of their wines. They are self-sufficient with the grapes from their 46.2 hectares of vineyards that allow them to produce 260,000 bottles per year."
90/100 Josh Raynolds, Vinous (2017 Vintage)
"Shimmering ruby. Cherry, black raspberry and floral qualities, along with subtle vanilla and oak spice accents. A fresh, juicy midweight, showing silky texture to the bitter cherry and dark berry flavours. Well-knit tannins frame the persistent finish, and touch of coconut adds appealing sweetness."
