This is a monopole of Guiberteau in Bizay, very near Brézé, and was replanted in the early 2000s with massale cuttings taken from the family’s best old vines in Brézé.
‘ Vinified in oak, with élevage in oak (2-4 year old, 500 litre). The nose is all flint, pebbles and gun-smoke, demonstrating fabulous intensity and focus. Beautiful purity on the palate here, fresh and cool, mineral too, with a white-pebble definition to it. This is a wine that majors on purity and intensity, showing acid-laced fruits cut with searing jets of minerality. Fabulous.” Chris Kissack - winedoctor.com
